What a website care plan actually covers, and when you need one

A website is a thing that runs, not a thing you finish. A care plan is paying someone to keep it running.

What is in one

• Hosting and domain renewal, so it never goes dark over a missed card.
• Backups and security, so a bad day is a restore, not a rebuild.
• Small changes: a new price, a new phone number, a holiday closure.
• Content: a new article a month and Google Business Profile posts, which is what keeps a site climbing in search.
• Posting, on the fuller plans: the Facebook posts done for you.

When to skip it

If you are comfortable logging into a hosting account once a year, your site rarely changes, and you do not need the posting done, take the files and run it yourself. We hand them over either way.
